Why did Doug Hoffman lose in New York 23? There are three reasons.
1. No one knew who he was a month ago. He had a lot of ground to make up and may have run out of time.
2. There were questions about his residence. Some believed he was a carpet bagger and did not want to vote for him.
3. Hoffman did not address local issues. He attempted to nationalize the campaign. Democrat Bill Owens kept it local.
