Item: Health Care Reform passed a key senate vote. The media is acting like they passed the bloody thing.
Analysis: This was procedural. No biggee. Just means that the forces of good will have to unite to defeat this bill later. As far as the media goes, they are trying to build momentum to help pass the bill.
Item: CBO accounting claims that the Reid Health Care Bill will cut the deficit and cost under $900 billion.
Analysis: This does not take into account the full impact of the bill which comes down the road. It also does not take into account other elements that will appear in other bills. It does estimate that health care costs will increase under the plan. The real cost will be $2.5 trillion. That will bankrupt the country.
Item: The government recommends limited numbers of mammograms for women.
Analysis: Imagine what will happen when the full force of such recommendations take effect under Obamacare.
Item: Arlen Spector admitted Medicare will be cut to pay for health care reform.
Analysis: They plan to kick it over to an "independent commission" to give the Democrats cover. The GOP needs to just spell this whole thing out: Medicare cuts, increase in health care costs, rationed coverage, rampaging deficits, and it does not cover everyone. Meanwhile, Obama fiddles while the country burns under the weight of unemployment.
Item: President Obama claims he does not want to add to the debt.
Analysis: Then why all the needless spending?
Item: Republicans and Democrats call for Treasury Secretary Geithner’s head.
Analysis: He should never have been confirmed in the first place. Geithner and the Obama Administration have yet to address the economy and have been in office almost a year. Geithner gives Congress a target and makes it look like they are doing something.
